Apple "Dull" commercial on German TV!
I just watched a prime-time TV show and was utterly surprised to see an Apple TV spot in one of the commercial breaks. Well, I guess I shouldn't really be surprised: The original "hypnosis" iMac TV spot and the "un-PC" iMac spot were also shown on German TV in about the same time slot (i.e. once, in one commercial break at prime time), but still... Apple TV ads are so rarely shown in Germany that it's a momentous occasion.
I was also happy to see that the "dull little boxes" part was translated to German. Since the spot actually has more neutral wording in the UK, I was afraid Apple had caved and removed that part from the TV spot for all subsequent showings.
Ruth Less writes: Hm, "Dull"? Which one is that?
But I heard they want to *gasp* set up Apple Stores, 5 or so, in big cities in Germany! Who would have thought that! What have we done to be worth real Apple Stores suddenly! But, Prague has one, and Berlin hasn't? Can't believe that...? What am I missing here?

Uli Kusterer replies: ★ I think you're mixing something up here. The only Apple Store I know in Europe right now is IIRC in London. What Prague has is probably just a regular Apple Authorised Reseller as we used to have in Heidelberg and as we still have in Mannheim (though the Mannheim store is incredibly insistent on getting me to leave without buying anything...). |
