CompileIt! released to the public
I just found out via the HyperCard mailing list that Tom Pittman just released a version of CompileIt to the public!
This is a HyperTalk compiler that can generate XCMDs and pretty much everything else that ran on Motorola 680x0-based Macs, and one of the tools that got me started in programming. Basically, it lets you code in HyperTalk, then offers some facilities to directly call into the operating system and do direct memory access once that isn't enough for you anymore. A fantastic natural curve for learning more advanced coding, because you can do everything without having to know more than HyperTalk, and then learn more advanced programming as your needs advance.
