Kimbro Staken: Handling URLs in Cocoa

I just stumbled across Kimbro Staken's article on Having your Cocoa app handle a custom URL scheme. Interesting, though I have a nagging feeling there should be another way to handle those than an Apple Event. Should I ever be able to prove that, I'll be sure to talk about it ad nauseam ;-)
