LowFat - zoomable UI

Bruce Horn just pointed me at LowFat, which is pretty similar to (but more demo-able than) Jef Raskin's zoomable UI demo. I think I could really get used to a window manager that works like this. But sadly, right now most people only add this as an extension to their file managers.

Should be easy to simulate a the file is the window approach for a zoomable UI like this, with thumbnails saved into closed files, and lazy loading of the actual file and application as soon as you zoom in enough, shouldn't it?
