What I've been up to...

[Herzmündung]Those two of you reading this may have wondered why there haven't been any new Mooses, fixes to the C tutorial etc. Here's the story: I've been doing theatre again. We've been rehearsing for the last year or so, and due to scheduling issues, I ended up doing two plays in very short succession. One of them was in English and we performed it last month, right in the "hot phase" of rehearsals for the one which I'll be playing for the last time tonight.

The one I'm doing tonight is called Herzmündung by Lutz Hübner, and is about the guy who shot John Lennon. I get to play his dad, and while it's a difficult topic, I think it's interesting what kind of a person would do something like that, and the author paints him as a modern-day Herostratus.

The play has a lot to go for it, like live Beatles music by a band called The Frogs (well, three of them, anyway) and great stage setting with several levels and gorgeous Playmobil-style masks for some characters.

[The Frogs]We got great feedback from the people running the theatre, and I'd love if we got picked up for a few repeat performances. Since we're all lay-actors, the scheduling would have to be worked out carefully, though. A guy's gotta work, after all, and once I've finished my Bachelor's degree, I'd like to move to another city. And then I'd have to figure out whether I could take a few days off whatever I'm doing by then to attend pick-up rehearsals and the performances themselves.

But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Update: Added two pictures.

*GASP* You said the H-word! Her----s! Didn't they tell you it's forbidden to speak his name? Everytime you do, the terrorist wins! ;-( Also in the same context, you missed the great punchline there of saying "I'll BURN that bridge when you get to it." Tsk. I'm very disappointed. :-P

Us actors are only scared of the M-word (from the "Scottish play").
