WinFS - worst marketing blah in ages...

Mr. Stoneship just found a blog posting on How WinFS "survived". Worst example of marketing spin ever. The whole posting screams "We killed the project and don't want to tell you". Quentin Clark essentially says: "We won't produce those shoes we talked about earlier, but I'm selling these fine leather jackets for which we used the leather we bought...". Basically, what was a file system that the whole OS would have used got "morphed" into an alternative database store with some extensions for MS SQL server. They completely switched target audience. And the saddest part is: This really was the only interesting part of Longhorn that had survived.
