Virus Drills

A poor sod on slashdot asked for help on maintaining his Uni network.

Of course, the guy is neither getting paid nor has the authority to enforce any policies, so it's kinda pointless to try and help him beyond telling him to get either of these changed.

But there's an interesting idea in the comments: A poster suggests to stage virus drills by sending attachments with executable files to users from time to time. Anyone who opens them gets banned for a while. This is a great idea to educate users about the dangers of opening attachments in files from strangers. If you use an account outside Uni (lots of free-mail providers out there), that is. Advanced users need to be able to verify the message as being untrustworthy, after all.
